Does Your Chain Hang Low?

Does it wobble to the floor? Does it shine in the light? Is it platinum is it gold?

Yup. We're loving chains lately. And no, not the kind you're thinking. We're talking about some chunky vintage chains that we've collected over the years and some new ones, too.

DVF is feeling the same way after her NYFW runway show:

And these are our own chains that we're loving:

When Life Hands You Lemons...

...Wear them!! This Spring one of the most prominent color is called "Lemon Zest". It's really hard to miss. And why not embrace this color? It certainly screams Hi!!!!!!! Here comes the sun! Which seems to disappear for the gloomy winter months. But it can surely be an intimidating color, especially when you're trying to avoid the buzz buzz bumble bee look.

Alice and Olivia has created the most amazing cap-sleeved, sparkly, yellow dress. Yes, yellow and sparkles. It sounds like a lot, but it just works:

Sometimes just a plain t-shirt can be enough with a color like this. Take this one from the gap, it's color is amazing and it's super easy to pair with some fun jewels or funky pants!

Maybe a yellow outfit isn't quite up your alley? Well, lucky for you there's Michael Kors. One of our fav designers has come up with this amazing bag with a little edge and the color is so perfect.

Or maybe even this statement necklace from Anthropologie? We're loving this one:

And last, but most certainly not least, we were obligated to throw in these lemon snakeskin flats from Tory Burch. Combining two of Spring's most prominent trends. Snake and lemon. Too wonderful.

So the next time life throws lemons at you, don't throw them back, take them and make an amazing outfit out of them!

Here Kitty, Kitty...

Ever wanted a furry little friend to call your own? A cute little kitten to snuggle with, one who would love you forever and ever? We certainly did. And now all that we can think about snuggling up with are these adorable kitty loafers that we see prancing the streets. The best thing about these shoes? You don't ever have to feed them, pet them, or clean out their litter box... Unless you really want to. But that's up to you. Oh, and PS. They come in all different breeds too:

So think twice before oohing and awing over the little critters at your pet-store and instead take a trip over to your local department store to fill the void.

Street Chic

Alexa
Paris, France

Ohh La La... Our dear friend Alexa has taken Paris as her home sweet home for the next few months. And boy, we could not wait to jump on this opportunity. Lex has some bold style and we just had to give her a shout out. All in all our jealousy of these amaze pieces has turned us into some green eyed monsters, but it's fine, emerald is in for Spring.

( Coat - Club Monaco. Bag - Kate Spade. Boots - Aldo )

Seriously though, does this outfit not scream eloquence to you? The cream coat, black pants, small black chain bag and chunky heeled booties! Ah! Très chic!

If you want to keep up with this Parisian fashionista check out her blog here.

High Heels, High Hopes.

This season wedged sneakers are everywhere... but like, whoever made the executive decision that sneakers, which exude comfort, should now have a heel, we hate you. Be&D on the other hand, came up with the perfect solution... a high top sneaker with a heel...

This One's For the Boys

Oscars night is undoubtedly one of fashions biggest nights, our fav celebs in this seasons most gorg gowns and lavish jewelry... who couldn't love it? But the poor fellas always get left in the dust... so today we salute those male A list celebrities who wowed us with their impeccable red carpet style. We like to think that it's easier to be a guy... its tough to mess up a classic black and white tux, its like they were created with the sole purpose of being chic, that being said, for a guy to be top notch trendy we look for that extra somethin, either a cool bow-tie, fun shoes or even a little stitching detail can add a twist to make the outfit red carpet fab.

(Image from Yahoo! )
Stevo may have not won an Oscar last night but we would like to congratulate him on his trendy glasses and polka dot pocket square, he's a winner in our eyes.

Whenever Alexander McQueen is involved its always a winner. Way to go Eddie! Best part of this whole outfit... Skull loafers... drool.

Alexander McWho?

If you're as obsessed with the skull trend as we are you definitely know of the Alexander McQueen skull scarf. It's soo lust worthy. The only sad thing is if you don't have $300 dollars to drop on this decorative scarf then you're out of luck. womp.

(photo from wordpress.com)

But wait! ... Our college budget doesn't exactly factor in this kind of spending. So we found this amazing alternative for 1/15 the price. Yeah. We really did.

And if that's not enough evidence for you, check out our photos:

Simpleton

( Leather panel pants - Club Monaco. Jacket- Madewell. Sweater- Wendy Wheeler. Bag- Rebecca Minkoff. Ballet Flats- Zara. Glasses- Dolce & Gabbana. Necklace- Vintage, similar Here )

Sometimes new trends can be a little bold and scary. We know this. Especially leather pants when you think about your Dad's rock and roll days, like Colin Firth in What a Girl Wants... Talk about yikes. But leather paneling is always a great alternative if you don't want to go full on leather. Pairing with simple colors can be less distracting too but still filling the leather effect. And as always, don't forget some fun jewels.

Back to Basics

Let's be honest here, winter is just an up hill battle against chapped lips and bitter cold days. But with sweet, sweet Spring just a few short months away its time to revamp your closet.

After Spring 2012's bright colors and busy patterns we are moving back to the black and white basics. Obvi we are all over this trend, black is our fav.

Some of our favorite off the runway black and white looks are from Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Oscar de la Renta. Each designer gave black and white a whole new meaning. Marc added some sparkle and a daring mix of patterns for a special emph, Chanel paired the classic black and white with an edgy leather skirt while De La Renta kept it classy with this elegant striped gown.
